  • Zen: Can host 24 passengers comfortably in a standard setup, with the ability to accommodate up to 26 passengers with triple occupancy.
  • X: Offers the highest capacity, with 26 passengers under standard occupancy and up to 30 passengers when using triple occupancy arrangements.
For an optimal experience, we recommend standard occupancy, ensuring spacious and comfortable accommodations for all guests. However, triple occupancy is available for groups requiring additional capacity.

What is Maldives Legend's standard check-in and check-out time?

Our standard check-in time is 2:00 PM, and check-out is 10:00 AM. These timings ensure a smooth transition between guest arrivals and departures while allowing our crew to prepare the liveaboard for the next voyage.
If your flight schedule requires an early check-in or a late check-out, we offer the following options to ensure your comfort:

Yes, our chef can cater to vegetarians and other dietary preferences. Meals on board are typically served buffet-style, featuring a variety of local and international dishes to suit all guests.
Our culinary team strives to accommodate all dietary restrictions and preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other special meal requests. To ensure the best dining experience, we kindly ask guests to inform us of any special dietary requirements or allergies at least 7 days prior to the cruise.

Does the fleet provide water bottles onboard?

No, our fleet does not provide single-use plastic water bottles onboard. We are committed to reducing plastic waste and maintaining a plastic-free environment in our liveaboards.
To support this initiative, we encourage all guests to bring their own reusable water bottles, which can be refilled at our designated water stations throughout the trip. This ensures you stay hydrated at all times while also contributing to a more sustainable and eco-friendly experience.

How can the guest arrive onboard the Maldives Legend fleet?

Upon arrival at Velana International Airport (MLE), our team ensures a seamless transfer experience for all guests. Each liveaboard’s dedicated dhoni (tender boat) will be sent to the airport to pick up guests and transport them directly to the liveaboard.
This transfer service allows for a smooth and comfortable journey from the airport to the specific Maldives Legend liveaboard. Our team will be available at the airport to assist with any arrival arrangements and guide guests to the designated transfer area.

Is WiFi available onboard?

Yes, WiFi is available onboard; however, it comes with a limited package of up to 50GB per week. Guests who require additional data beyond this limit can purchase a rechargeable data package at an additional cost.
Please note that WiFi coverage may be limited to certain areas of the liveaboard and may experience fluctuations depending on location and network strength. If you require high-speed or uninterrupted internet access, we recommend purchasing a local data SIM at Velana International Airport upon arrival for a more reliable connection during your trip.

Yes, guests are allowed to smoke or vape onboard, but only in the designated smoking areas. These areas are carefully selected to ensure the comfort of all passengers while maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment.
Smoking or vaping is not permitted in indoor areas, guest rooms, or common enclosed spaces to ensure the health and safety of all guests and crew members.
We kindly ask all guests to respect these guidelines and dispose of cigarette butts responsibly to help us maintain a clean and eco-friendly environment.

How many towels are provided onboard?

Each guest will be provided with two towels during their stay onboard:

  1. White Towel (In-Room Use): A white towel will be available inside your room for personal use. This towel will be laundered every 3 days to maintain cleanliness and comfort.
  2. Colored Towel (Diving & Outdoor Activities): A colored towel will be provided for use during diving sessions or other outdoor activities. This towel will be laundered daily to ensure freshness.
Our crew ensures that all towels are properly maintained and replaced as needed.

Do we offer free transfers from the airport to the liveaboard?

Yes, Maldives Legend provides complimentary transfers from Velana International Airport to the liveaboard. Transfers depart between 13:00 and 13:30 PM, ensuring a smooth and timely connection for arriving guests.
Our team will be at the airport to assist with the transfer process and guide guests to the designated pick-up area.

Is liquor and soft drinks available onboard the liveaboard?

Yes, both liquor and soft drinks are available for purchase onboard. Our fully stocked bar offers a selection of beers, wines, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages to complement your experience.
Guests can refer to the Bar Menu onboard for a full list of available drinks and pricing. If you have any special beverage preferences, please feel free to inform our team in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

How long should I wait before flying if I have been diving?

It is strongly recommended to wait at least 24 hours after your last dive before boarding a flight. This precaution is advised by most diving schools and dive safety organizations to reduce the risk of decompression sickness (DCS) caused by nitrogen buildup in the body.
Our diving itineraries are carefully planned to ensure guests have adequate surface time before their departure. If you have any concerns about your flight schedule in relation to your dives, please consult our dive team for guidance.

What Currency Should I Bring?

We accept the following payment methods: USD, Euros, Visa, and MasterCard. However, please note that if you're using a credit card, all transactions will be charged in USD, and there will be a 4% surcharge added to the amount.
Tips for Credit Card Usage:

  • Before your trip, ensure you inform your credit card provider that you will be traveling to the Maldives. This step is essential, as some credit card companies may block transactions made onboard due to fraud protection measures.

If you are already in the Maldives before joining your liveaboard, you will need to make your way to Male (Velana) International Airport to board the Maldives Legend transfer to the liveaboard.
Your hotel can assist you in arranging the transfer from the hotel to the airport. Once you arrive at the airport, we will be happy to assist you further with the transfer to your liveaboard.

How Many Dives Per Day Will I Be Able to Do?

During your stay on the liveaboard, we offer 17 dives per week, which includes 2-3 dives per day. This schedule allows you to explore the rich underwater world of the Maldives at a comfortable pace.
Please ensure that you leave a minimum of 24 hours between your last dive and your flight departure or any altitude activity, as this is important for your safety and to avoid any health risks associated with diving.

Can Non-Divers Book the Liveaboard for Snorkeling?

Yes, non-divers are welcome to book the liveaboard for snorkeling! You can enjoy the stunning underwater beauty of the Maldives with our snorkeling opportunities. However, snorkeling can only be done when an Instructor/Guide is observing or if the snorkeler is accompanied in the water by a crew member onboard.
This ensures your safety and enhances your experience while exploring the vibrant coral reefs and marine life.

What Do I Need to Bring If I Want to Dive?

If you are a certified diver, you will need to bring the following:

  1. Diving License: Your certification card to verify your diving qualifications.

We strictly follow Maldivian dive regulations, which set a maximum depth of 30 meters for all dives, without exception. This limit applies to all divers, regardless of their experience level, including those with advanced certifications or training in deep diving.

Do I Need a Minimum Number of Dives If I Want to Dive with Maldives Legend?

No, there is no minimum number of dives required to dive with Maldives Legend. We welcome divers of all experience levels. Our team of skilled dive professionals is accustomed to guiding groups with varying abilities, and we ensure that guests are grouped based on their skills to guarantee everyone has the most enjoyable and safe experience possible.
However, for trips cruising through the Deep South itinerary, you will need to have an Advanced Open Water (AOW) Certification and a minimum of 50 logged dives to participate.

Can I Take a Diving Course Onboard?

Yes, you can take a diving course onboard! We offer a range of PADI courses, including:

These courses are available on all of our boats. However, courses are subject to availability and itinerary, so we recommend requesting more details before your trip.

At Maldives Legend, we use a dedicated Diving Dhoni for all our diving activities. The Diving Dhoni is a specialized boat that is fully equipped to support our divers throughout their underwater adventures. It accompanies the main liveaboard at all times, ensuring that you have everything you need for a safe and enjoyable dive.

Buddy Diving
While solo diving is not allowed, our team is always ready to pair you with a buddy if you do not have one. We encourage divers to team up with a buddy, as it provides additional safety in the water. However, regardless of whether you're diving with a buddy or not, you'll always be accompanied by one of our professional dive guides to ensure safety and guidance throughout the dive.
Group Diving
Our liveaboard operates with a strong emphasis on group dives, as we believe in fostering a sense of community and enhancing the overall experience. We aim to maintain an ideal guide-to-diver ratio, with at least three to four dive guides on board (Depending on the liveaboard of your choice).
